The Dr. Cutchen Difference

1. Board Certified — Dr. Robert Cutchen, MD, RVS is Board Certified by the American Board of Phlebology and the American Board of Family Medicine with years of experience in treating vascular disease and venous insufficiency.
2. R.V.S. Certified — Dr. Cutchen is a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS). This gives him the skills and knowledge to perform vascular ultrasound in the diagnosis of vein disease and accurately interpret the test results in the determination of most optimal treatment protocol.
3. Uses the newest, state-of-the-art, Diomed Laser Technology — Dr. Cutchen uses the 810nm Dimed Laser System to perform an Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT). An VenaCure™ EVLT is performed by inserting a laser fiber  into the vein through a small incision and, once turned on, heats the inside of the vein to seal it shut. An EVLT takes the place of traditional vein stripping, which is performed in a hospital, and can be performed in the comfort and convenience of my office setting using only local anesthesia. The procedure can typically be performed in 45 minutes and the Diomed Laser System offers the most comfortable laser treatment available with rapid relief of symptoms, no downtime, less bruising than traditional laser treatment and minimal, if any, scarring.
4. Outpatient Procedures — All procedures are performed in the comforts of Dr. Cutchen’s Albuquerque vein office, with local anesthesia and minimal downtime. No hospitalization — no vein stripping!
